In general, people speak of the human “spirit” and the “spiritual”
activity of man. The concept of "spirit" is in everyday speech, especially when one means intellectual activity. And yet one knows nothing about the spirit as a concept and as a being.
One knows something of spiritual activity and can follow something of this activity, but the rest escapes man. And when one knows little of a certain fact, disputes, violent recognition and denial and series of speculations always arise.
So it is with the concept of “soul”.
What is the soul? How does the soul relate to the rest of man's being? Here too, a startling ignorance is revealed, a groping and speculating. The science that is called psychology, i.e., psychology, knows about many things, but the least about the soul. A psychologist is undoubtedly a clever person; but certainly not a psychologist in the true sense of the word.
The same is true of the nature of the human body. When we speak of the body, we generally think only of the material vehicle. The extremely complicated composition of aspects of our bodily form, however, escapes the attention of the great mass.

In Universal Philosophy one speaks of the ninefold composition of man, which ninefoldness is divided into three main aspects, namely that of spirit, soul and body.
We therefore speak of:

the ghost figure,
the soul shape and
the body shape,

which doctrine is entirely in accordance with the wisdom as handed down to us in the Sacred Books of all ages.
In the Bible, man is introduced as ADM, three sounds, which are translated as: ADAM. These three sounds are successively the indications of spirit, soul and body, and represent kabbalistically the number 1440 = 9.

A = Aleph = the number 1, which indicates becoming, revelation, the source from which everything comes: the Spirit.

D = Daleth = the number 4, i.e. the liquidator or door: typical designations for the soul functions.

M = Mem = the number 40, that is, the finisher, the fulfiller: the body-form.

Adam is therefore never the designation of an individual, but of humanity as a whole, namely in its manifestation of spirit, soul and body.
